Our 24th annual Holiday “Christmas on the River” celebration is sure to create lasting memories for everyone in the family.  Join us for live entertainment including the Park Hill School District 1000-voice children’s choir, Santa Claus, fun things to see and do, delicious dining and treats, plus our famous holiday fireworks.   Admission is Free.


Hello, Vendors!
The Christmas on the River committee is now accepting vendor applications for this event.  The event is only 4 hours long on Friday, December 1, 6:00 – 10:00 pm and the event is located outside in historic downtown Parkville.  Below is the Vendor Contract with rules, regulations, health department and fire code regulations. We ask that you return the completed contract to us by Monday, November 20, 2017.  Questions? Email us at

Schedule of Events

  • 6:00 PM: Free Shuttle Service Platte County Community Center South, Park University Main Entrance and Parking Lot by Soccer Field
  • 6:00 PM: Art, Craft, Food and Specialty Vendors
  • 6:00 PM: Downtown Parkville Storefront Open Houses
  • 6:00 PM: Hayrides through English Landing Park
  • 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM: Santa’s House Open for Wishes
  • 7:00 PM: Main Stage Entertainment, Greetings from Santa Claus, 1000-Voice Park Hill School District Choir, School of Rock, plus songsters, music makers, and merriment for all!
  • 8:30 PM: Fireworks Show
  • 8:30 PM - 10:00 PM: Santa’s House Open for Wishes

Please Note: Events and times are subject to change. Shuttle services are available until 10 pm. Due to the fireworks and safety reasons, the boat ramp and Platte Landing Park will be closed to the public on Friday, December 1 starting at noon and will reopen Saturday, December 2, 2017.
