PARKVILLE, Mo. (January 29, 2026) – Historic downtown Parkville may have a small footprint, but it is home to a vibrant community of more than 40 locally owned small businesses. The district offers an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, bakeries, cafés, an art studio, salons, event spaces, and a bustling farmer’s market, among many other attractions. This month, downtown Parkville welcomed its newest addition: The Parkville Needlepoint House, further enriching the area’s unique retail landscape.
Once a well-kept secret, word is spreading about this charming destination just minutes from downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Downtown Parkville now boasts nearly 20 food and beverage options, ranging from casual coffee shops and neighborhood eateries to refined yet approachable dining experiences. Since mid-2024, longtime favorites such as Stone Canyon Pizza, the romantic French restaurant Café des Amis, and Parkville Coffee have been joined by a wave of acclaimed newcomers, including Prima Facie Bistro and The Market at Prima Facie, The Baker’s Table (original bakery reopened under new ownership), Deviant Kava, K-Tacos & More, Wild Flour Baking Co., and the newest culinary gem, The Parker Hollow.
